Baghpat: The crushing season at Malkpur Sugar Mill in Badaut concluded on Saturday. However, farmers are still waiting for payments amounting to around ₹350 crore, which remain pending.
According to reports, the mill currently has a sugar stock worth nearly ₹200 crore, along with sufficient quantities of molasses and other by-products. Despite this, farmers have not yet received their dues.
Farmers allege that the mill management has asked them to wait until the next crushing season for the payment. This has led to growing resentment among the farming community, who are demanding that their pending dues be cleared at the earliest.
