Correct Sugarcane Variety and Survey Are the Foundation of Cane Supply: Sanjeev Rathi

Farmers are being encouraged to ensure accurate sugarcane variety registration and survey verification as part of preparations for the upcoming crushing season. Speaking during a field visit in the Badrauli area, Sanjeev Rathi, Deputy Chief Cane Manager of , said that correct sugarcane variety identification and proper survey records are essential for smooth cane procurement and supply management.

The company has launched an awareness drive among farmers to promote the cultivation and registration of suitable sugarcane varieties. Rathi appealed to growers to declare only the actual sugarcane variety cultivated in their fields during the survey process. He emphasized that in the next crushing season, the company will purchase sugarcane strictly according to the variety mentioned in the issued cane slips and survey records.

According to the company’s procurement policy, early-maturing varieties will be purchased as early varieties, general varieties as general, and rejected varieties will remain classified as rejected. The survey work is currently being carried out jointly by the sugar mill administration and the cane department across the operational area.

Rathi also advised farmers to immediately correct any discrepancies found during ratoon crop verification. He stated that if any farmer’s sugarcane variety is recorded incorrectly, it should be rectified without delay to avoid inconvenience during the next crushing season.

The major early sugarcane varieties include 0238, 0118, 94184, 14201, and 98014. General varieties include 5011 and 1434, while rejected varieties include 05191, 9302, and 0233. Farmers have been urged to ensure 100 percent accurate survey details so that cane supply and procurement operations remain smooth in the forthcoming season.

Several officials and representatives, including Deepak, Satish, Saroj Pal, Hargovind, Sharib, Abhishek, and Naveen, were also present during the awareness campaign.
