Singapore-based commodities trader Wilmar International presented the best offer and won a tender from Taiwan to supply up to 38,000 tonnes of raw sugar, a trader familiar with the process said on Wednesday.
Wilmar’s bid was for a premium over New York raw sugar futures of between $78 and $80 per tonne CFR (cost and freight included), with arrival of the sugar in Taiwan for mid-October.
Alvean, COFCO and Viterra were second, third and fourth, respectively, in the tender.
