Hardoi: In a step towards making sugarcane farming more modern, efficient and profitable, DCM Shriram Sugar Mill in Hariyawan (Hardoi) distributed advanced agricultural machinery to 21 selected farmers.
The machines were handed over during a programme held at the mill premises by Chief Operating Officer Ashutosh Tripathi. The equipment distributed included 13 MTP machines, five trench openers and three mini tractors. The initiative aims to promote mechanisation in sugarcane farming, reduce cultivation costs, ensure timely farm operations, and improve both productivity and crop quality.
Addressing the farmers, Mr Tripathi said mechanisation is the future of agriculture. He explained that the use of modern technology enables farmers to achieve higher yields in less time. He added that DCM Shriram Sugar is not limited to purchasing sugarcane but is fully committed to supporting farmers through technology, training and access to better resources.
Unit Head Pradeep Tyagi informed farmers about the mill’s “first come, first served” scheme, under which agricultural machines are being made available at attractive subsidy rates. He encouraged farmers to take maximum advantage of the scheme.
Farmers expressed enthusiasm after receiving the machines, calling the initiative a fresh beginning for the future of sugarcane cultivation. They also thanked the sugar mill management for supporting their livelihoods.
Several senior officials, field staff and a large number of farmers were present at the event, underscoring the mill’s continued focus on farmer welfare and sustainable agriculture.
