Bajaj Sugar Mill Trains 75 Staff Members in Identifying Improved Sugarcane Varieties

Lakhimpur Kheri: Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar Limited organised a sugarcane variety identification training workshop at its mill auditorium in Gola Gokarnnath to strengthen technical knowledge among field staff.

As part of the programme, 75 sugarcane development workers and managers from the mill and cooperative societies were trained by retired scientist Dr Avadhesh Kumar Dagar. The objective of the training was to improve workers’ ability to accurately identify different sugarcane varieties, especially improved and high-yielding ones.

The workshop was held in the presence of Deputy Cane Commissioner Dr R.D. Dwivedi, District Cane Officer Lakhimpur Ved Prakash Singh, District Cane Officer Sitapur Ratnesh Tripathi, Unit Head Rakesh Yadav, Senior General Manager (Cane) P.S. Chaturvedi, and Assistant General Manager (Corporate) Asad Sheikh.

Officials said that, in addition to classroom sessions, on-field training will be conducted on January 18 by visiting farmers’ fields, allowing participants to gain practical experience in identifying sugarcane varieties.

Several senior cane department officials and staff members were present at the event, highlighting the mill’s focus on improving technical skills and supporting better sugarcane cultivation practices.
