Tulsipur: The annual general body meeting of the Sahkari Ganna Vikas Samiti Tulsipur was held at MDM Resort, where several public representatives and officials gathered to discuss the committee’s work and issues faced by sugarcane farmers.
The event was inaugurated by lighting a ceremonial lamp by chief guest Palturam, along with Kailash Nath Shukla, former MLA Shailesh Singh Shailu, committee chairperson Neelam Singh, and Annu Singh.
During the program, Chairperson’s representative Pradeep Singh welcomed and honoured the guests with traditional shawls. The committee also presented a report on its activities and discussed several important proposals. These included confirmation of the minutes of the previous meeting, review of the cash balance sheet of the previous cooperative year, and discussion on audit reports from the cooperative years 1995–96 to 2023–24.
Members also deliberated on the approval of the 2026–27 cooperative year budget and proposals for new infrastructure within the committee premises, including staff housing, toilets, and installation of a submersible pump. A proposal related to the reconstruction of six classrooms at Swatantra Bharat Inter College was also discussed, based on a letter issued by the Assistant Engineer from the Deputy Cane Commissioner’s office in Lucknow.
Additionally, the meeting reviewed expenditure against the approved 2025–26 budget and discussed a proposal to allot seven newly constructed shops in the committee premises on rent according to established rules.

During the discussion, BJP leader Annu Singh raised several concerns related to farmers’ issues. MLA Palturam said that the government continues to work consistently for the welfare of farmers.
The meeting was conducted by Vishnu Dev Gupta. Several dignitaries were present, including BJP district president Ravi Mishra, committee chairman Manraj Singh, vice chairman Rajendra Prasad Shukla, general manager of Tulsipur Sugar Mill Ompal Singh, along with Ramkumar Pal, Pappu Singh, Rohit Tiwari, Madhav Chaudhary, and Chauvleshwar Mishra.
