The National Sugar Institute (NSI), Kanpur, will soon provide training to sugarcane farmers and sugar mill professionals from South Africa. The programme will cover the complete sugar value chain, starting from sugarcane cultivation to sugar production, engineering processes, and the latest technologies used in the industry.
To formalise this collaboration, NSI has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Black Agricultural Commodities Federation (BACF), South Africa, and Ceylon Sugar Industries and Holdings, Sri Lanka. The partnership aims to share India’s expertise and practical experience in the sugar sector with international stakeholders.
Through this initiative, NSI will help participants gain hands-on knowledge of modern farming practices, efficient mill operations, and advanced sugar processing technologies, strengthening cooperation between India, South Africa, and Sri Lanka in the sugar industry.
