Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath-Farmers meeting

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday interacted with farmers to get a first-hand account of their problems and also assured resolution for the same. In big outreach to the farming community, UP CM assured the kisans that his government will be holding discussions to increase the procurement price of sugarcane.

Around 150 farmers were invited to have a one-to-one discussion with the Uttar Pradesh chief minister.

While having a discussion with the farmers, Adityanath patiently listened to the suggestions given by the Kisans to help the agriculture sector grow.

A wide range of issues like non-payment of sugarcane dues, increase in MSP of sugarcane, electricity rates for farmers, waiving off of power bills accrued during Coronavirus period were discussed during the interaction between the farmers and UP chief minister.

Besides the above-mentioned issues, withdrawal of cases lodged against farmers for burning Parali (stubble) and doubling of Kisan Samman Nidhi from 6000 to 12000 were discussed in the meeting.

Yogi Adityanath assured the farmers that all their demands will be met.

Notably, the farmers claimed that the Bharat Kisan Union (BKU) affiliated farmers’ protest is sponsored by the opposition and those who are carrying out protests at Delhi borders are not real farmers.
