Chandigarh, August 17: The Sugarfed has given appointment letters to the relative of 23 deceased employees of the Budhewal Cooperative Sugar Mill under the Ghar Ghar Rozgar Yojana.
Cooperation Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa distributed the job letters at Markfed’s head office here. The 13 kin of deceased employees of Batala Cooperative Sugar Mill and eight of the Ajnala Cooperative Sugar Mill were also handed over the letters.
Sugarfed Chairman Amrik Singh Aliwal said the long-pending demand of the affected families had been fulfilled. He added the Sugarfed had made an attempt to help the families of the deceased in their hour of need.
Khanna MLA Gurkirat Singh Kotli said the appointments were stuck for the past 15-20 years and now the affected families could sustain themselves.
