The Uttar Pradesh government has approved the budget for the expansion and modernization of the Ganga Kisan Cooperative Sugar Mill located in Morna, Muzaffarnagar. The decision has brought a wave of happiness across the Bhopa region, especially among farmers.
To celebrate the announcement, BJP workers distributed sweets at the residence of District Panchayat President Dr. Veerpal Nirwal. For a long time, local residents and farmers had been demanding the expansion of the Morna sugar mill. With the government finally approving the proposal, people are hopeful that it will bring major benefits to farmers and the local economy. Hundreds of BJP workers were present during the celebrations.
Regional minister Amit Rathi thanked Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for taking this important decision. He said that the BJP government is continuously working for the welfare of farmers and laborers. According to him, the expansion of the Morna sugar mill will strengthen the regional economy and create new employment opportunities.
Dr. Veerpal Nirwal explained that after cabinet approval, the mill’s crushing capacity will be increased from the current 2,500 TCD to 3,500 TCD in the first phase, and later to 5,000 TCD. The expansion aims to improve production capacity and modernize the mill with new technology.
He added that due to outdated machinery and a worn-out plant, farmers were not receiving proper benefits earlier. With modern machines, production efficiency will improve, directly benefiting sugarcane farmers. Increased crushing capacity will also help ensure timely payments and higher incomes for farmers.
Dr. Nirwal further shared that he has been raising the demand for modernization since 2012. He described this decision as a major step toward securing farmers’ rights and strengthening agriculture through cooperative institutions. He thanked the state government and congratulated the people of the region on this achievement.
