Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has announced that all closed sugar mills in the state will be revived soon, as part of a broader push to expand industrial activity and create local employment opportunities.
Speaking in Chhapra on Wednesday, Choudhary said the state government is setting up industries on a large scale to ensure that Bihar’s youth do not have to migrate to other states in search of jobs. He described the NDA government’s industrial policy as one of the best in the country, aimed at attracting investment and accelerating economic growth.
Under the policy, land is being provided to industries for just ₹1, and bank loans are being approved within 15 days, he said. These incentives have already begun drawing advanced industries, including semiconductor units, to the state.
Choudhary also praised Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s Nyay Yatra, Pragati Yatra and Samriddhi Yatra, saying these initiatives enabled direct engagement with citizens and led to unprecedented improvements in basic infrastructure. He highlighted major progress in roads, education, healthcare and electricity supply.
Referring to the Samriddhi Yatra in the Saran region, he said the long-standing goal of providing electricity to every household has now been achieved. While even cities once struggled to get five hours of power, villages today receive round-the-clock electricity. Around 1.90 crore families are getting up to 125 units of free power, resulting in zero electricity bills for nearly 1.70 crore households.
Choudhary also announced that an airport will soon be built in Chhapra to improve connectivity and boost trade and tourism. He added that the NDA government has set a target of creating one crore jobs over the next five years and remains committed to fulfilling all its promises to make Bihar prosperous.
