Significant progress in the ethanol blending program is ongoing, as India is close to achieving the target of 20 per cent ethanol blending.
In the ongoing Ethanol Supply Year (ESY) 2024-25, ethanol blending in petrol reached 19.6 per cent in January, and cumulative average ethanol blending from November 2024 to January 2025 touched 17.4 per cent. The ethanol blending percentage achieved in January 2025 is the highest to date.
PSU oil marketing companies (OMCs) received 91.7 crore liters of ethanol under the EBP program in January 2025, bringing the cumulative total to 200.8 crore liters from November 2024 to January 2024.
According to available official data, the ethanol blended under the EBP program in January 2025 amounted to 82.1 crore liters, totaling 222.9 crore liters from November 2024 to January 2025.
