A team of American and Canadian sugar industry experts visited Bindal Sugar Mill, Changipur, in Noorpur on Monday to study the mill’s modern technology, production systems and housekeeping practices. The visit provided an opportunity for the visiting experts to understand the mill’s operations and technical arrangements across different sections.
The visiting team included Robert Selz, Kevin Krasulak and George Larter. On their arrival at the mill, they were welcomed by Chairman Shashi Gupta and company officials Rahul Chaudhary, Lamanshu Dixit, Satyendra Kumar Giri and Pawan Kumar Gupta. The officials accompanied the team during its visit and explained the functioning of various units and the technical systems used at the sugar mill. 
The experts visited the mill’s major operational units, beginning with the cane yard and continuing through the sugar production section, mill house, boiling house, distillery and power house. They reviewed the equipment, production processes and housekeeping arrangements and received detailed information from the mill officials about the technology and operational practices followed at the facility.
Bindal Sugar Mill, Changipur, operates with modern technology and integrated facilities covering sugar production, distillery operations and power generation. The visiting experts observed the functioning of these units and discussed various aspects of the mill’s technical and operational systems with the management.
Chairman Shashi Gupta said the visiting team is associated with The American Sugar Refinery, which has five manufacturing facilities across Maryland, Louisiana, California, Canada and Mexico. The organisation also has partnerships with several sugar mills in Portugal and Italy. The team remained at the Bindal Sugar Mill until late evening, completing a detailed visit of the plant and its various operational units.
