Corrections Policy
Sugar Times is committed to accuracy in every report we publish, covering India's sugar, ethanol, and bio-energy industry. When we make a mistake, we correct it promptly, transparently, and visibly.
How We Handle Errors
If a factual error is identified in a published article — whether in figures, quotes, names, dates, or other verifiable details — our editorial team reviews the claim against original sources and, where confirmed, corrects the article as soon as possible.
- Factual corrections are made directly within the article text.
- A note is added at the bottom of the corrected article stating what was changed and when.
- Significant corrections that materially affect the meaning of a report are also noted at the top of the article.
- We do not silently alter previously published facts without disclosure.
Our Review Process
Reported errors are reviewed by our editorial desk, cross-checked against primary sources (government data, company statements, industry body releases, or direct confirmation with named sources) before any correction is published. Minor typographical or formatting fixes do not require a correction note; substantive factual errors always do.
What We Correct
- Factual inaccuracies in reported figures, statistics, or data
- Misattributed or incorrect quotes
- Incorrect names, titles, or organizational affiliations
- Errors in dates, locations, or timelines
- Broken or incorrect source links
