Editorial Standards & Ethics Policy
Sugar Times has covered India's sugar, ethanol, and bio-energy industry since 2016. These standards guide how our editorial team reports, sources, and publishes every story.
Accuracy & Verification
We verify facts, figures, and quotes against primary sources — government data (ISMA, AISTA, state cane departments), official company statements, and direct interviews — before publication. Where a claim cannot be independently verified, we attribute it clearly to its source rather than presenting it as established fact.
Independence & Impartiality
Sugar Times' editorial coverage is independent of advertisers, sponsors, and any single industry stakeholder. Advertising and sponsored content on our platform is clearly distinguished from editorial reporting and never influences our news coverage or the framing of our reports.
Sourcing Practices
- We prioritize named, on-record sources wherever possible.
- Anonymous sourcing is used only when a source faces genuine risk from attribution, and only when the underlying claim can be substantiated independently.
- Wire and syndicated content is clearly attributed to its original publisher.
- We do not publish unverified rumors or speculation as news.
Conflicts of Interest
Our editorial staff and contributors disclose any personal, financial, or professional interest that could reasonably be seen to affect their coverage. Where such a conflict exists, that contributor does not cover the related story.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we correct it openly. See our full Corrections Policy for how we handle and disclose factual errors.
