The Panipat Cooperative Sugar Mill is taking steps to strengthen its machinery, technical infrastructure and operational efficiency ahead of the 2026-27 sugarcane crushing season. A meeting of the mill’s administrative board was held at the District Secretariat to review key proposals related to season preparations, including machinery, electrical systems, technical equipment, environmental monitoring and other essential resources.
Deputy Commissioner and Chairman of the Panipat Cooperative Sugar Mill, Dr Harish Kumar Vashisht, said every necessary step would be taken to improve the mill’s performance and ensure smooth operations. He said strengthening the mill technically and improving its efficiency are priorities, and all preparations for the 2026-27 season will be completed within the scheduled timeframe. He added that the strength and efficiency of the mill are directly linked to the interests of sugarcane farmers, making it essential to keep machinery, technical systems and other resources in proper working condition. 
Several proposals for purchasing machinery spare parts and technical materials for the upcoming crushing season were discussed at the meeting. These included spares for the ash handling system and compressors, oil seals, nickel screens, brass liners, vacuum filter screens, stainless steel wire netting for sugar graders, stitching machine and slat conveyor spares, and V-belts. Proposals were also considered for compressor spares, different sizes of idlers, feed pump spares, high-pressure valves, insulation material for power turbines, DG set servicing materials, electrical motors, static collars, APH tubes, electrical equipment and a sugar bag serial-number printing machine.
To further strengthen the mill’s technical capabilities, proposals were also placed for the procurement of ID fans, stainless steel perforated screens, pneumatic equipment, MCS aerator drives, crown pinions, high-flow pumps, planetary reduction gearboxes and electrical and instrumentation cables of various sizes. These upgrades are aimed at improving the reliability and efficiency of the mill’s equipment before the start of the new crushing season.
The meeting also focused on strengthening environmental monitoring systems. A proposal was discussed to install an NPL-approved Online Continuous Emission Monitoring System (OCEMS) and PTZ camera for stack monitoring in accordance with the latest Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) guidelines. The system is expected to improve monitoring of environmental parameters at the mill. 
Other proposed works include repairs to damaged equipment, RCC work in the sunken portion of the cane yard, painting of two molasses tanks, construction of a security guard post and cleaning of the molasses storage tank. The meeting also considered cases related to reimbursement of medical expenses incurred by retired mill employees and their dependents at authorised private hospitals.
Managing Director Navdeep Nain said preparations for the 2026-27 crushing season are being undertaken in a timely manner, with emphasis on maintaining machinery and strengthening technical resources. These measures are expected to support smooth mill operations, improve efficiency and provide better services to sugarcane farmers. On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner also congratulated the officers for the mill’s success in receiving a national award.
