The autumn sugarcane planting season has officially begun in Pilana village of Aminagar Sarai with the launch of a sugarcane development programme by Kinauni Sugar Mill. The initiative aims to encourage farmers to adopt scientific planting methods, improved sugarcane varieties and recommended crop management practices to enhance productivity and strengthen cane quality.
The programme was inaugurated at the field of farmer Vijaypal Tyagi, where planting of sugarcane variety 14201 was carried out. Before planting, the two-eye sugarcane seedlings were treated with appropriate seed treatment and soil treatment methods. The activity was organised as part of the mill’s ongoing efforts to promote improved cultivation practices among sugarcane growers in its command area.
Officials from Kinauni Sugar Mill and local farmers participated in the programme. Kinauni Sugar Mill Cane General Manager Jaiveer Singh, Assistant Cane General Manager Rajiv Chaudhary, Block In-charge Anuj Kumar and cane development department employee Ajay Sharma were present during the planting activity.
The officials interacted with farmers and highlighted the importance of following recommended practices during the autumn planting season. Proper selection of planting material, seed treatment, soil treatment and timely planting can play an important role in establishing a healthy sugarcane crop and improving yields, particularly when farmers adopt the recommended practices from the beginning of the crop cycle. 
Farmers from the village and surrounding areas also participated in the programme. Satveer Singh, Dharmendra Singh, Satish, Sandeep, Ravinder and Subhash Tyagi were among those present during the launch. The participation of local growers provided an opportunity to discuss sugarcane cultivation practices and encourage wider adoption of improved techniques.
The use of sugarcane variety 14201 and treated two-eye seedlings was highlighted during the planting activity. Such demonstrations at farmers’ fields can help growers understand recommended planting techniques and make informed decisions about crop establishment.
