New Delhi, October 2026: The Indian Federation of Green Energy (IFGE) will organise the 6th India Green Energy Awards 2026 and a seminar on bioenergy on October 14 at Atal Akshaya Urja Bhawan, CGO Complex, Lodhi Road, New Delhi. The event will bring together policymakers, industry leaders, technology providers and renewable energy experts to discuss the role of biomass and bioenergy in India’s transition towards a low-carbon economy. The seminar will focus on the theme “Bio Pathways to Net Zero: Biomass & Bio-Energy.”
The programme is scheduled to begin with registration and tea from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM, followed by the bioenergy seminar from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM. A panel discussion will feature industry and government representatives, including Dr Gaurav Mishra, Scientist F at the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE); Ravi Prakash Agarwal, Mission Director of the SAMARTH Mission; Abhimanyu Bansal, Vice President and Head of Biomass Densification and Biomass-to-Bio-Bitumen at Reliance Industries; S. N. Yadav, Executive Director (CBG) at GAIL (India) Ltd; Ashish Kumar, Vice President of IFGE and Managing Director of Verbio India; Varun Karad, CEO of REnergy Dynamics; Kumar Neelendu, Founder and CEO of Farmwatt Innovations; and Aman Kwatra, National Coordinator of IFGE’s Bharat Biomass & Pellets Forum. Dr Atul Kharate, COO of IndianOil Adani Ventures, will moderate the discussion. 
The awards ceremony is scheduled for 7:10 PM to 8:30 PM. The programme will include a welcome address by Atul Mulay, Chairman of the Biofuel Committee at IFGE and President of Praj Industries, followed by a presentation by knowledge partner CareEdge. Ravi Gupta, Chairman of the Sugar to Bioenergy Forum at IFGE and Executive Director of Renuka Sugars Ltd, is also scheduled to address the gathering. The programme will include the presentation of awards and felicitation of jury members.
Shripad Yesso Naik, Union Minister of State for New and Renewable Energy and Power, is listed as the chief guest. Santosh Kumar Sarangi, Secretary of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, has been invited as the guest of honour. Their participation is subject to confirmation. Vaibhav Dange, Founder Director of IFGE, will moderate the awards programme, while Sanjay Ganjoo, Director General of IFGE, will deliver the vote of thanks. A networking dinner is scheduled from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM.
The India Green Energy Awards recognise organisations and initiatives contributing to the development of renewable energy, bioenergy, alternative fuels and electric mobility. IFGE’s award categories cover sectors such as solar and wind power, compressed biogas, biomass, ethanol, biodiesel and innovative energy projects. The October 14 event will provide a platform for stakeholders to exchange perspectives on biomass utilisation, bioenergy technologies and pathways towards net-zero emissions.
