New Delhi, Nov 8 (UNI) Diversified business group DCM Shriram would invest Rs 358 crore to ramp up capacity across various plants under sugar vertical.
“These investments are aimed at capitalizing on the increase in sugarcane availability in its catchment area, enhancing capacity for production of refined sugar due to consumer preference and building flexibility of feedstock for its distilleries,” the company said a statement.
The additional capacity would be commissioned by October, 2022. As per the plan, the company would invest Rs 258 crore to increase Ajbapur sugar crushing capacity by net 3,000 TCD to 13,500 TCD along with conversion to refined sugar for the
entire plant. The other investment of Rs 50 crore is proposed for conversion of existing 8000 TCD Hariawan sugar facility to refined sugar.
As per the company statement, grain attachment in distillery size would be increased to 260 KLD for the upcoming 120 KLD distillery at Ajbapur at an investment of Rs 50 crore.
